On October 23rd, the Hamilton Select Board, including Lee McCoy, Ben Galuza, William Olson, and Rosemary Kennedy, discussed a Halloween road closure request for Union Street, prompted by safety concerns and supported by 107 neighborhood signatures. Chief Guy advised against a partial closure due to logistical and safety risks, instead recommending increased police presence and future planning for a community safe zone. The Board also addressed the League of Women Voters banner policy, noting lack of precedent and the need to clarify sign regulations, with plans for improved election messaging via the town’s communications team.
